Renesse
In the village, we like to spoil you with a piece of culinary enjoyment in Zeeland spheres. Brouwersdam
The Brouwersdam is buzzing! Originally, Brouwersdam was designed to connect the islands of Schouwen-Duiveland and Goeree-Overflakkee. Meanwhile, it has become a hotspot where it buzzes with sportsmanship, fun and conviviality. Definitely worth a visit! Be surprised by the chef’s specialties in one of the beach bars, discover the various water sports and unwind during a relaxing walk on the beach. Every day a different adventure and a new memory.
Zierikzee
Zierikzee is a true port city and has a rich history. Much of it can still be seen today. For example, there are more than five hundred monuments in and around the city to admire! In addition, Zierikzee has a beautiful harbor, which you can have a good view of from a terrace. You can also shop well in the local boutiques and enjoy a beautiful city walk.
Neeltje Jans
Go for a day of fresh air on Neeltje Jans, an island halfway to the Oosterscheldekering. Throughout the year you can enjoy hiking in this nature reserve. You can also take a boat along the storm surge barrier and look for seals.
Kop van Schouwen
The Kop van Schouwen is a dune area on the western end of Schouwen-Duiveland. The Kop van Schouwen consists of two worlds. The vastness of the shifting dunes and the seclusion of the largest forest in Zeeland. Both connected by one varied walk. Do you love nature? Then this is the place to visit.
Bicycle tours
Schouwen-Duiveland has a bicycle junction system, hiking route network and men/rider trails. Through the cycling junction system, you can create your own route. You’ll always end up back at the starting point. For more information, visit Zeeland Visit – bicycle junctions.
In 2019, the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland won the international award for Best Of Nature together with the municipalities of Goeree-Overflakkee, Westvoorne and Veere. This award is presented every year at the international tourism fair in Berlin. Our internationally appreciated nature is very suitable for cycling through. Therefore, a special Best of Nature bicycle route has been developed. This route runs from the municipality of Westvoorne via Goeree-Overflakkee through Schouwen-Duiveland to the municipality of Veere. In total, the route is more than 100 kilometers long.
Middelburg
Middelburg has a rich history that is still reflected in today’s streets cape. The many events, stores and catering establishments make it a lively city where even the Zeelanders themselves like to go shopping or settle down on a terrace. Discover the capital of Zeeland!
